This Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating the Wound and Foot Care program. This includes performing Wound/Foot and toenail care, facilitating the Wound Care Team, coordinating and educating staff, collaborating with Medical Staff and interdisciplinary team. The Wound Care nurse is involved in setting facility goals for the wound/skin integrity program. The Wound Care Nurse collects data, analyzes trends, initiates and evaluates improvement processes/outcomes. This position is responsible for preparing and presenting reports to the QI committee, facility leadership and other groups as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Upon hire: Alaska Registered Nurse License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Within 1 year of hire: Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) Or
  • Within 1 year of hire: Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) Or
  • Within 1 year of hire: Certified Ostomy Care Nurse (COCN) Or
  • Within 1 year of hire: Wound Care Certification (WCCN) Or
  • Within 1 year of hire: Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) Or
  • 2 years In a health care facility (acute care, long term care, or rehabilitation center) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of wound care experience.
