SAC / BDC Functional Architect – FP&A & Brazil Payroll
Summary
Designs SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and Business Data Cloud (BDC) solutions for FP&A and Brazil payroll, translating local statutory requirements into planning models, data products, and integrations with SuccessFactors and S/4HANA.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Functional Architect who can bridge SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Planning and SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC)/Datasphere design, with deep, practitioner-level knowledge of FP&A processes and Brazil’s statutory payroll landscape.
This role is responsible for solution design across workforce and financial planning initiatives where Brazil is an in-scope region—translating local payroll, tax, and labor requirements into SAC planning models, Datasphere data products, and integration designs with SuccessFactors and S/4HANA.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and configure SAC planning models for FP&A use cases, including budgeting, rolling forecasts, headcount planning, and personnel cost planning, covering dimensions, versions, data actions, and approval workflows.
- Define the Datasphere/BDC data model for workforce and finance data products, including CDS-based extraction from S/4HANA and SuccessFactors, and determine whether to use classic (replicated) or live patterns based on write-back and volume requirements.
- Own the Brazil-specific design layer, including statutory payroll components (INSS, FGTS, IRRF, 13th salary / “aguinaldo,” and vacation accruals), eSocial reporting obligations, and their representation within personnel cost calculation logic and Cost Center/Organizational Unit structures.
- Lead Analysis and Design workshops with FP&A, Controllership, and HR/Payroll stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional and technical design documents.
- Design integration patterns across SuccessFactors Employee Central (positions, organizational assignments, compensation), S/4HANA Finance (GL, Cost Center, ACDOCA-based actuals), and SAC/Datasphere.
- Define KPIs and dashboard/story requirements, including budget per FTE, personnel cost variance, plan vs. actuals, headcount tracking, and vacancy tracking, and validate them against Brazil’s statutory reporting requirements.
- Support effort estimation, volumetric analysis, and RACI definition for proposal planning and delivery phases.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for Brazil-specific design matters throughout the build, testing, and go-live phases.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of SAP experience, with at least 3 years focused on SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and/or SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC).
- Hands-on knowledge of SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) / Datasphere, including space design, CDS-based extraction, ODP/CDS replication flows, and semantic modeling.
- Strong practitioner-level understanding of FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, personnel cost and headcount planning, and management reporting.
- Proven experience with Brazilian payroll and statutory requirements, including INSS, FGTS, IRRF, 13th salary, vacation accruals, and eSocial reporting—either through direct project delivery or close functional collaboration with Brazilian payroll teams.
- Experience integrating SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and S/4HANA Finance (GL, Cost Center, Controlling) into a planning or analytics solution.
- Hands-on experience with SAC input forms, data actions, allocations, version management, and multi-level approval/workflow processes.
- Ability to lead client-facing workshops, produce functional design documents, and translate statutory/local requirements into system configuration.
- Fluent in both Portuguese and English, written and spoken, due to the requirement to work directly with Brazilian Payroll and Controllership stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to SAP BDC/Datasphere/SAC content packages for SuccessFactors Employee Central and S/4HANA Finance.
- Previous experience in a multi-region workforce or financial planning implementation (for example, Brazil combined with a European or North American region), including data governance considerations related to currency (BRL) and GDPR/LGPD.
- Familiarity with SAP Build Process Automation (BTP) or equivalent workflow tools for multi-level planning approval processes.
- Experience in Controllership, FP&A, or HR/Payroll operations before transitioning into SAP solution architecture.
Supporting SAP-centric engagements across FP&A, workforce planning, and finance transformation.
