KBR is looking for a safety officer to carry out safety inspection of equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure the safety of workers engaged in oil and gas facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure safety of workers engaged in oil and gas facilities.
- Inspect safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools and replace those not meeting safety requirements.
- Observe crews at work and report laxity in safety precautions, such as failure to use goggles, rubber gloves, and other safety devices.
- Examine conditions of ditches and tunnels and recommend use of braces to prevent cave-ins endangering workers.
- Investigate accidents to determine causes and devise preventive measures.
- May instruct workers in use of safety equipment and safe work methods.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures.
- Encourage reporting of unsafe acts and conditions.
- Comply with all SHE procedures prior to commencement and during work.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in oil and gas maintenance – high school.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in oil and gas maintenance – diploma.
- Strong technical understanding of maintenance jobs related to safety.
- Well organized and proactive with excellent communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills with large organizations.
- Maturity of judgment under pressure and ability to resolve problems.
- Strategic management skills.
