Job description Manager: Sales Training

Role Objectives:


  • Drive continuous skill development of the dealership’s sales team through structured training programs aligned with Mercedes-Benz India standards.
  • Identify training needs through performance analysis, observation, and feedback to design targeted learning interventions.
  • Ensure seamless execution of in-house training modules covering brand knowledge, product expertise, sales techniques, and soft skills.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on training effectiveness through structured evaluations, tests, and behavioral follow-ups.
  • Build and maintain training infrastructure including content libraries, e-learning platforms, and training calendars.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO by aligning sales training with business goals, customer experience benchmarks, and brand expectations.


Reporting to: CEO as per leadership structure.



Qualification - Experience - Skillset


Qualification Requirement:

· Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/Engineering preferred.


Experience:

· 5–10 years of experience in training, or L&D roles, preferably in the automotive or luxury retail sector.

· Proven record of designing and delivering impactful sales training interventions.


Skillset Requirement:

  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, e-learning platforms, and content design tools
  • Customer-oriented mindset with sensitivity to brand standards and dealership goals
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to connect training performance with business outcomes




Area of Work

Training Strategy & Planning:

§ Prepare a comprehensive calendar on a quarterly basis covering all product training sessions.

§ Ensure inclusion of both new and existing products in the calendar.

  • Share and regularly update the training calendar with the MBIL Sales Training team and respective Sales Regional Managers.
  • Incorporate periodic training sessions focused on internal processes and systems.
  • Develop effective training aids and tools to support delivery of training programs.
  • Design customized training programs to address specific needs of Franchise Partners

Training Delivery & Content Execution:

  • Ensure all training materials, presentations, and product demonstration tools are prepared and available in advance.
  • Integrate competitive product analysis and comparison of Features, Advantages, and Benefits (FABs) into product training sessions.
  • Include detailed market insights and trends to enhance training relevance and impact.

Training Infrastructure & Resources:

§ Maintain a centralized training library with up-to-date content and reference material.

§ Source and evaluate external training partners (if required), ensuring alignment with MB standards.

§ Set up and maintain structured onboarding programs for new hires in sales.

Self-learning:

§ Conduct periodic refreshers on existing products to stay updated.

§ Explore, study, and document evolving technologies integrated into MBIL products.

§ Analyze and demonstrate Features, Advantages, and Benefits (FAB) of MBIL cars during training sessions.

  • Study core competitor products in detail.
  • Compare MBIL products with core and relevant competition offerings.
  • Evaluate and document FABs of competitor products in comparison to MBIL vehicles.
  • Study the local and national automotive market landscape.
  • Analyze current industry trends and customer purchase behavior.
  • Research the luxury automobile segment, including its patterns, trends, and consumer behavior.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all self-learning activities and findings.
  • Effectively demonstrate acquired knowledge during internal training sessions

Evaluation, Reporting & Compliance:

§ Track training effectiveness through assessments, post-training evaluations, and behavioral analysis.

§ Maintain individual training records, evaluation sheets, and attendance for audit and review.

§ Submit regular training MIS reports, including onboarded vs. trained manpower, attrition trends, and training ROI.
