About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Salesforce Developer / Application Engineer to join a growing Digital IT environment and play a key role in the development, enhancement and ongoing support of enterprise Salesforce platforms.

This is a hands-on technical position suited to an experienced Salesforce professional who is comfortable working across Salesforce CRM, Marketing Cloud, integrations and platform engineering. You will design, develop and maintain scalable Salesforce solutions while working closely with engineering, architecture, product and business stakeholders.

The role will also contribute to integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise platforms, using APIs, middleware and integration technologies to enable secure and reliable data exchange.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and customise scalable solutions across Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud.
• Develop using Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, Visualforce and Aura.
• Configure and maintain Salesforce environments, including custom objects, fields, security models, workflows and automation.
• Build and support integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications using REST/SOAP APIs, platform events, webhooks and middleware/integration platforms.
• Develop solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud and Marketing Cloud.
• Work with Marketing Cloud capabilities including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, AMPscript and SQL.
• Troubleshoot complex Salesforce issues, undertake root-cause analysis and implement sustainable technical solutions.
• Apply Salesforce development standards, secure coding practices, peer reviews, unit testing and integration testing.
• Support deployments across development, testing and production environments using GitLab and/or comparable CI/CD tooling.
• Maintain appropriate documentation covering technical designs, configurations, integrations and releases.
• Participate in technical design and code reviews and contribute to platform architecture and engineering standards.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Marketing, operational teams and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to other Salesforce developers and delivery partners.
• Contribute to platform continuous improvement, technical debt reduction and the broader technology roadmap.
• Keep up to date with emerging Salesforce capabilities, including Agentforce, Einstein, Data Cloud and Salesforce AI.

Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• 5+ years' hands-on Salesforce development experience, ideally within a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong commercial development experience with Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components, Flow, Visualforce and Aura.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce configuration, including Flows, workflows, Process Builder, Apex classes/triggers, custom objects, data models and security models.
• Experience across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Experience Cloud.
• Hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience, including Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, AMPscript and SQL.
• Strong experience designing and supporting Salesforce integrations using REST, SOAP, platform events and middleware/integration platforms.
• Sound understanding of Salesforce security, sharing, profiles, permission sets, authentication, governor limits and platform performance.
• Experience working with CI/CD and source-control tooling, such as GitLab, Azure DevOps, Gearset or Copado.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience participating in code reviews, technical design reviews, testing, release planning and production support.
