SAP FICO Specialist
An exciting contract opportunity has arisen for an experienced SAP FICO Specialist to join a leading Australian retail, wholesale, and distribution business. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Technology, you will play a key role in driving Finance projects, enhancements, and ongoing system support across an extensive enterprise S/4HANA landscape.
This hands-on role is central to maintaining a robust, scalable SAP Finance solution framework, ensuring seamless integration across front-end systems, third-party platforms, and core SAP modules.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution & Enhancement Delivery: Scape, estimate, blueprint, configure, and implement SAP FI/CO components and OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM).
- Integrations & Architecture: Collaborate with integration teams to connect S/4HANA with external systems, third-party finance platforms, and SAP applications (e.g., SuccessFactors).
- Stakeholder & Business Analysis: Gather, document, and translate complex functional requirements into actionable technical solutions, working directly with key business stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate requirements to propose compliant standard SAP functionality, identify solution gaps, and drive process standardization.
- System Support & Governance: Maintain solution documentation, develop functional specifications for developers, and adhere to change management, security, and quality standards.
Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications & Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 3+ years of hands-on SAP FI/CO experience encompassing areas such as GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cost Centre/Profit Centre Accounting, and Controlling.
- Proven track record with SAP S/4HANA and Fiori-based functionality.
- Demonstrated experience in technical integration between SAP S/4HANA and OpenText VIM.
- Experience with SAP Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting capabilities.

- Prior background in wholesale, retail, or pharmaceutical industries.
