Role Title: SAP SuccessFactors ECP Technical Consultant
Role Purpose: We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) Technical Consultant to support New Zealand payroll operations, while also being capable of supporting other geographies as required. This is a critical hands-on role supporting payroll stability, compliance, production operations, and SAP SuccessFactors platform health across a complex enterprise environment.
Location: Wellington/ anywhere in New Zealand/ Anywhere in Australia
Key responsibilities
Act as the subject matter expert for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP), with a strong focus on New Zealand payroll.
Maintain and support SAP SuccessFactors production and standby environments, ensuring systems remain stable, accurate, secure, and available.
Support payroll processing activities, including issue resolution, configuration changes, data integrity, transports, and production support.
Work as part of a global team supporting payroll operations across multiple geographies, while maintaining strong local accountability for New Zealand payroll requirements.
Provide on-call or out-of-hours support during critical payroll finalisation and payroll run periods when required.
Mandatory knowledge, skills and experience
Strong technical proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP), including hands-on configuration, support, troubleshooting, and operational management.
Deep understanding of New Zealand payroll operations, payroll compliance requirements, and payroll processing practices.
Experience supporting complex payroll environments where accuracy, timeliness, security, and regulatory compliance are critical.
Experience with payroll configuration, system configuration, data integrity management, ECP transports, and production change support.
Strong ABAP skills, including the ability to investigate, debug, and resolve payroll or integration-related issues.
Solid understanding of ITIL, DevOps, SAFe or Agile ways of working, including incident, problem, change, release, and operational support disciplines.
Effective communication, collaboration, time management, adaptability, and attention to detail.
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience
Experience across broader SAP SuccessFactors modules beyond Employee Central Payroll.
Experience with solution implementation, upgrades, releases, testing, and adherence to industry best practice.
Understanding of enterprise technology standards, operating frameworks, controls, and governance expectations.
Understanding of HR business processes and how payroll integrates with broader HR data and employee lifecycle activity.
Experience working in a regulated, business-critical, or financial services environment.
Qualifications
SAP SuccessFactors or SAP Payroll certification is preferred.
Certified Payroll Technician (CPT) or Certified Payroll Practitioner (CPP) is advantageous.
ITIL, DevOps, or Scaled Agile certification is advantageous.
