SAP Test Automation Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP S/4HANA Python Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Python-based test automation and SAP business process automation.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining automated test cases using an existing Python automation framework. The role involves automating SAP GUI transactions and SAP Fiori workflows, developing reusable automation components, and supporting end-to-end automation across various SAP business processes.

The candidate should have hands-on experience in Python programming, SAP S/4HANA automation, SAP GUI and Fiori, along with a strong understanding of automation frameworks and software testing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and automate new SAP business test cases using the existing Python automation framework.
• Enhance and maintain reusable Python components, transaction classes, workflows, subflows and automation utilities.
• Automate SAP GUI transactions and SAP Fiori workflows wherever applicable.
• Develop end-to-end automation solutions across Procurement, Sales, Inventory, Finance and other SAP business processes.
• Maintain and enhance regression, smoke and integration automation test suites.
• Identify, debug and resolve automation failures to improve test stability and execution efficiency.
• Improve synchronization, logging, reporting and error-handling mechanisms within the automation framework.
• Follow coding standards and best practices, conduct code reviews and validate changes to prevent regressions.
• Collaborate with SAP functional consultants, QA teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into reliable automation solutions.
• Support continuous improvement of automation frameworks, utilities and testing processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in Python programming and automation development.
• Experience in SAP S/4HANA automation and SAP business process testing.
• Hands-on experience automating SAP GUI transactions.
• Experience with SAP Fiori-based workflow automation.
• Good understanding of Python automation frameworks and reusable component development.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts and workflows.
• Knowledge of regression testing, smoke testing and integration testing.
• Ability to debug automation scripts and troubleshoot execution failures.
• Understanding of SAP business processes such as Procurement, Sales, Inventory and Finance.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and debugging skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Pytest, Selenium, Robot Framework or similar automation tools.
• Knowledge of SAP GUI Scripting API.
• Exposure to PyAutoGUI or other desktop automation libraries.
• Experience with SAP Fiori and SAP Gateway.
• Knowledge of API automation and integration testing.
• Experience working with reusable automation frameworks and test utilities.
• Exposure to Agile development and testing methodologies.
