SC Cleared Service Designer – Defence Programme

Salary: £130,000 - 133,900 per year

• Active, current and transferable SC Clearance
• Proven experience delivering Service Design on government, defence or complex digital transformation programmes
• Strong understanding of user-centred and service design methodologies
• Experience producing service blueprints, journey maps and other service design artefacts
• Ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus across diverse teams
• Experience working within agile multidisciplinary environments
• Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills
• Desirable: Previous experience within Defence, National Security or secure government environments
• Desirable: Knowledge of the GDS Service Standard and service assessment processes
• Desirable: Experience working on large-scale digital transformation programmes
• Desirable: Familiarity with complex operational or mission-critical services

• Design and map end-to-end services across multiple channels and touchpoints
• Use service design techniques to understand user needs, business goals and operational requirements
• Create service blueprints, user journeys and ecosystem maps
• Facilitate workshops and collaborative design activities with stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for service improvement and transformation
• Work with delivery teams to ensure services are accessible, usable and effective
• Use research insights and evidence to inform design decisions
• Support service assessments and governance activities where required

We are seeking an experienced Service Designer for a major defence programme delivering critical digital services in a secure government environment. You will join a multidisciplinary team working with User Researchers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Content Designers and Technical Architects to shape and improve services. The role offers hybrid working with regular attendance in Corsham, at a rate of £515 per day, for a six-month contract inside IR35.
