HELP STUDENTS LEARN, GROW & THRIVE

Do you enjoy working with children and creating a place where they feel supported, included and excited to be? The Kenosha YMCA is looking for a School-Age Childcare Lead Teacher to help create a fun, safe and engaging before and after school experience for children ages 5–12 at Forest Park Elementary School.

As a Lead Teacher, you’ll work alongside the Site Director to plan activities, build positive relationships with children and families, and help keep the program running smoothly. You’ll also step into a leadership role when the Site Director is away, making this a great opportunity to grow your experience while making a difference in the lives of local students.

What You'll Do

  • Build positive, nurturing relationships with children and help create a safe, welcoming environment.
  • Plan, lead and participate in fun, age-appropriate recreational and curriculum-based activities.
  • Assist the Site Director with daily program operations and serve as the lead when the Site Director is not on site.
  • Ensure children are safe, supervised and accounted for throughout the program day.
  • Welcome families and communicate with parents during drop-off and pick-up.
  • Help maintain an organized program space, including equipment, supplies and daily food preparation.
  • Support and supervise guest teachers and interns when needed.
  • Follow YMCA safety, abuse prevention, mandated reporting and Wisconsin child care licensing requirements.
  • Participate in required trainings, staff meetings and provide support at other YMCA child care sites as needed.
  • Complete required program and administrative responsibilities.
