Security Analyst
Summary
The Security Analyst monitors, detects, and responds to security incidents across client environments, performs incident triage, and provides threat analysis, compliance assessments, and remediation advice. Core technologies include Microsoft 365, Azure, SIEM tools, and endpoint protection solutions.
Salary: $100,000 per year
About the role
We are looking for a driven and analytical Security Analyst to join our growing security team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents across multiple client environments. You will work closely with customers to provide threat analysis, compliance assessments, reporting, and remediation recommendations. You'll also play a key role in mentoring junior team members and contributing to the ongoing improvement of our security services.
What You’ll Be Doing
Security & Incident Response
Monitor and respond to security incidents across critical systems
Perform incident triage, containment, and restoration
Assist in Root Cause Analysis for major incidents
Manage intermediate SIEM activities
Deliver security reports and vulnerability remediation advice
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Isolate, replicate, and resolve technical and security issues
Handle ticket escalations from junior engineers
Maintain detailed troubleshooting documentation
Compliance & Reporting
Provide compliance assessments across multiple regions
Maintain accurate records of incidents and remediation actions
Contribute to knowledge base articles and documentation
Collaboration & Mentorship
Mentor junior team members
Collaborate across support teams for swift issue resolution
Participate in internal training and continuous improvement initiatives
What Success Looks Like (KPIs)
This role includes performance metrics tied to bonuses and career progression, including:
90% Ticket SLA adherence
100% CSAT (no negative client feedback)
35+ hours logged weekly
3+ service tickets closed daily (average)
Monthly knowledge base contributions
Billable/project hour targets
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
Diploma or Degree in IT (or equivalent industry certifications)
1–2 years’ experience in a similar role
Experience within an MSP environment supporting multiple clients
Background in infrastructure and/or endpoint support
Technical Skills
Microsoft & Azure
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 security solutions
Experience with Windows Server (Hybrid), IIS, SQL
Solid understanding of Azure (VMs, Storage, AKS, App Gateway, VNETs, Policies)
Knowledge of business continuity tools (ASR, Backup, Soft Delete, Replication)
Networking
TCP/IP, NAT/PAT, DNS
Routing & switching
VNET Gateways, ACLs, NSGs
Firewall fundamentals
Security
Security principles and attack vectors
SIEM management
Endpoint Protection (EPP/EDR)
Vulnerability management
Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Tenable, Umbrella
Automation & DevOps
Basic PowerShell scripting
ARM, Azure DevOps, Bicep
Simple security runbooks
Linux
Working knowledge of Linux administration
