Senior Security Architect – Microsoft Global Secure Access (GSA)

Initial 2-Month Contract | Fully Remote | Australia-Wide

We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Architect with proven Microsoft Global Secure Access (GSA) experience to join an initial 2-month consulting engagement with a leading technology organisation.

This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates anywhere in Australia.

The role is highly architecture and advisory focused, supporting enterprise customers with the assessment, review and design of Microsoft Security Service Edge (SSE) and Zero Trust environments.

About the Role You will work closely with senior customer stakeholders to assess existing Microsoft security environments, identify gaps and risks, and develop target-state architecture and remediation recommendations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting architecture reviews and technical assessments of Microsoft Global Secure Access (GSA)
• Reviewing Entra Internet Access and Entra Private Access deployments
• Assessing traffic forwarding, GSA Client and application access architectures
• Reviewing integrations across Entra ID, Conditional Access, Intune and device compliance
• Assessing Zero Trust security architecture and identity/access controls
• Reviewing Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, security monitoring and telemetry
• Assessing GSA integration with Windows 11 and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Conducting stakeholder workshops and technical discovery sessions
• Identifying security gaps, risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities
• Developing detailed gap analysis, remediation recommendations and target-state architecture
• Producing architecture documentation, design artefacts and recommendations
• Presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders and architecture review boards

About You
We are looking for a senior-level security architect who can operate confidently with both technical teams and senior customer stakeholders.
Essential:

• Hands-on/proven experience with Microsoft Global Secure Access (GSA)
• Strong Microsoft Entra ID / Entra Suite experience
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust architecture
• Experience across Entra Internet Access and/or Entra Private Access
• Strong understanding of Conditional Access, MFA, SSO and identity security
• Experience with Microsoft Intune and Windows 11
• Strong Azure security and networking knowledge
• Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Strong architecture, assessment and documentation skills
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Highly desirable:

• Microsoft Defender XDR / Defender for Endpoint
• Microsoft Sentinel / SIEM / SOAR
• Azure Firewall, Virtual WAN, Private Endpoints and hybrid networking
• Identity Protection and Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
• Kerberos and modern authentication
• Experience conducting security assessments, gap analyses and target-state architecture engagements
