Summary

A yard-based security control role in Nairobi overseeing immobilized electric bikes: the associate monitors assets via CCTV and GPS/tracking systems, controls yard access and gate passes, reconciles daily records against team reports, and escalates irregularities. Key tools include tracking/telematics systems, CCTV, and spreadsheets.

Role Overview

The Security Control Associate is a control and oversight role responsible for maintaining accountability, visibility, and security across the yard and immobilized-bike process.

The Associate does not immobilize bikes, as this is carried out by the Collection team. Instead, the Associate acts as the central control point responsible for monitoring all immobilized bikes, safeguarding yard assets, controlling what enters and leaves the yard, and ensuring that every action across the process is properly authorized, logged, and reconciled.

Working from the Security Control Office, the Associate will maintain oversight of yard activity through CCTV and tracking systems, monitor the status and movement of immobilized bikes, coordinate with the Collection and Repo teams, and ensure that all yard movements are properly documented. No bike should leave the yard without the required clearance, a stamped gate pass, and completion of all necessary checks.

Responsibilities

  1. Asset Monitoring & Control: Maintain a live and accurate register of all immobilized bikes and oversee their status through the tracking system, monitoring location, signal activity, and movement, and promptly flagging any irregularities. Reconcile records regularly against Collection team reports to ensure full accountability.
  2. Daily Security Reporting: Conduct a structured 4:00 PM cutoff review and compile a report on all bikes yet to be opened. Coordinate with the Repo team on outstanding units and carry out security checks to identify any assets at risk, missing, or unaccounted for.
  3. Yard Access & Clearance Management: Oversee the movement of all bikes in and out of the yard — new, repaired, repossessed, or returned — accurately logging intake details, reasons, and any associated costs. Verify full clearance before release, ensuring outstanding arrears or repossession costs are resolved, and authorize gate passes and exit stamps only once all checks are complete.
  4. Surveillance & Investigative Support: Maintain continuous CCTV monitoring across the yard, gate, and release areas, with particular attention to gate activity. Retrieve and preserve footage as needed to support investigations, audits, and dispute resolution.
  5. Reconciliation & Reporting: Maintain precise and up-to-date logs of all immobilization, de-immobilizations, yard movements, and gate passes. Conduct daily reconciliations and shift handovers to ensure complete accountability across operations.
