SECURITY OFFICER-UNARMED
Job Scope/Overview
• Responsible for identifying dangerous objects and preventing those objects from being transported through screening locations • Carry out duties in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service • Use diverse, cutting-edge electronic detection and imaging equipment • Perform metal detection searches, pat down searches, operation of x-ray machines physical searches of property, and other identification review as needed • Additional security related duties to ensure safety to the traveling public
Requirements: • Legally eligible to work in the United States • Must possess a current Florida Class-D Security License • High School Diploma or G.E.D. • Must read, write, and speak English proficiently • Must be able to pass a verifiable background check, including criminal employment, education, and personal references • Must possess valid state-issued Driver’s License or a valid state-issued I.D. card • Must be able to pass pre-employment / annual / random drug screenings • Must have reliable transportation • Must be able to work and interact with the public • Must be able to work around the flexibility and changing schedules. This includes being available to work shifts throughout the day, afternoon, evening and overnight as required
Physical Demands • Ability to stand for long periods of time with few breaks • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. • Ability to twist, squat, and bend over without physical limitations • Ability to perform patrols including walking long distances and going up and down stairs • Ability to protect yourself or others in the event of a physical disturbance • Must be comfortable with conditions that range from Summer Heat to Winter Conditions • Open availability without restraints due to other part time jobs, etc
