Summary
Installs, configures, and commissions CCTV, access control, and Genetec Security Center systems along with the supporting IP network (PoE/managed switches, VLANs, structured cabling) for security system projects. Day-to-day involves device setup, network troubleshooting, testing, and documentation at client sites like Changi Airport.
Salary: $4,200 – $5,500 per month
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Security Systems & Network Engineer to support the installation, integration, testing and commissioning of CCTV, Access Control, Genetec Security Center and the associated IP network infrastructure for security system projects.
Key responsibilities
Install, configure and commission IP CCTV systems, cameras, NVR/VMS and related equipment
Install, configure and support Genetec Security Center, including CCTV and Access Control integration
Configure and support Genetec components such as Security Center, Omnicast, Synergis, Archiver, Directory, Federation, user roles and permissions, video recording and retention settings, camera and device integration, and alarm and event configuration
Install and configure Access Control systems including controllers, card readers, electromagnetic locks, door contacts and request-to-exit devices
Configure managed Ethernet and PoE switches supporting CCTV, Access Control and Genetec infrastructure
Perform VLAN configuration, IP addressing, switch port configuration and basic routing/network troubleshooting
Install and troubleshoot Cat6/Cat6A structured cabling and fibre-optic connections
Perform network connectivity, bandwidth, latency and packet-loss testing
Troubleshoot CCTV, Access Control, Genetec and network communication issues
Prepare and maintain documentation including network diagrams, IP address schedules, VLAN schedules, switch port schedules, Genetec system architecture, equipment inventory, test reports and as-built drawings
About you
Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or related discipline
Experience with CCTV and Access Control installation and commissioning
Hands-on experience with Genetec Security Center is strongly preferred
Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking
Experience configuring managed switches and PoE networks
Understanding of VLANs, subnetting, routing, ACLs, DHCP, DNS and NTP
Able to troubleshoot network connectivity using tools such as ping, traceroute and packet capture
Experience with structured cabling and fibre-optic infrastructure
Able to read network diagrams, schematics and technical drawings
Comfortable working onsite and supporting installation and commissioning activities
