Job Summary

The Senior Account Associate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of accounting records, management reports, financial statements, and compliance-related submissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries.

  • Prepare and review full sets of accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.

  • Prepare management accounts, financial statements, and supporting schedules.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records and reconciliations.

  • Review general ledger transactions and investigate discrepancies.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients on accounting matters.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide professional accounting advice.

  • Liaise with clients to obtain required financial information and supporting documents.

  • Ensure all client deliverables are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.

  • Assist clients with statutory compliance requirements.

  • Support preparation of tax schedules and information required for tax submissions.

  • Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and regulatory authorities.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.

  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior account associates.

  • Review work completed by junior team members to ensure accuracy and quality.

  • Provide guidance on accounting practices and technical matters.

  • Assist management with resource planning and workflow coordination.

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.

  • Support implementation and enhancement of accounting systems and internal controls.

  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent are advantageous.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience in an accounting firm, outsourcing firm, or professional services environment.
  • Strong experience preparing full sets of accounts and financial reports.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as Xero.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
