Senior Accountant

Job overview\:

Cowan is seeking a Senior Accountant in Baltimore to participate in close processes, including preparing internal reporting and performing in-depth variance analysis. The Senior Accountant will put together period-end journal entries, perform analytical review procedures during monthly close and prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.

Responsibilities\:

• Be responsible for the following accounting areas\: Goodwill, equity, share-based compensation, intercompany transactions and balances and foreign currency.
• Review and post journal entries during period-end close processes.
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Assess the effectiveness of control procedures.
• Prepare external financial reporting.
• Implement new accounting standards.
• Develop, document and implement procedures that will produce timely and accurate financial information.
• Document processes and procedures.
