Senior AI / Data Engineer

About the role
We're looking for a AI / Platform Engineer who can go beyond model development and analytics — someone who can turn AI, data, and decision logic into real services used in production. This is a hands-on role working closely with our Head of Engineering and Founders. You'll help take over an existing platform, strengthen its AI/data capabilities, and build solutions for real enterprise financial-services use cases.
Key responsibilities
Work on AI/ML, predictive models, scoring, segmentation, and decision logic
Handle data processing, feature engineering, and data pipelines
Build Python services and REST APIs, including FastAPI
Work with PostgreSQL / SQL and data integration
Productionize AI models and decision services
Integrate AI and data components with the core platform
Take over and extend an existing codebase
Conduct testing, debugging, monitoring, and troubleshooting of owned components
Work with real customer data to improve models, rules, and decisioning
Support enterprise use cases across debt collection, lending, and customer engagement
About you
3+ years of professional experience in AI/ML, Data Engineering, Backend Engineering, or Software Engineering
Strong hands-on experience with Python
Practical experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, Predictive Modeling, or Decision Systems
Experience building REST APIs / backend services using FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks
Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
Understanding of data pipelines, data processing, validation, and integration
Experience taking models or data-driven logic into production
Ability to understand and extend an existing codebase
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Comfortable taking ownership from design through implementation
