Position Overview

The Senior Analyst - Category Management High Jewelry drives the development and execution of High Jewelry product strategy across new product development, pricing, assortment analysis, and lifecycle management. This role owns critical product and pricing data, drives cross-functional execution, and delivers accurate, timely, and decision-ready analysis to ensure the category is positioned to drive brand desirability, market growth, and commercial performance.

This position requires a highly reliable, detail-oriented, and analytically strong candidate who can operate with urgency, sound judgment, and limited oversight. The successful candidate will translate product data and market insights into compelling strategies, manage multiple priorities seamlessly, communicate proactively across functions, and deliver polished, executive-ready materials.

Location: This position follows a hybrid schedule requiring 4 days in-office at our New York, NY location and 1 day remote.

Key Accountabilities

Product Development & Lifecycle Management

  • Own and drive the maintenance of image grids, product trackers, and SKU-level information throughout all stages of development, ensuring accuracy and consistency across shared files and merchandising systems.
  • Initiate and lead new development projects, achieving the timely completion of milestones autonomously (e.g. SKU creation, data maintenance, pricing updates, and sign-off).
  • Coordinate product reviews and lifecycle management actions, including obsolescence tracking and execution, to ensure the assortment remains relevant, productive, and aligned with category strategy.
  • Maintain key product files, including loose gemstone and diamond tracking to support development and launch execution.

Reporting & Assortment Analysis

  • Analyze and interpret category performance metrics, including sales, margins, inventory, and assortment productivity, to identify trends and develop actionable recommendations to be articulated in product briefs.
  • Support the creation and development of reports and presentations for leadership meetings, product reviews, and business updates, summarizing new product introductions and performance of current assortment.
  • Independently identify opportunities and risks within the category and present product strategy recommendations with confidence and clarity, outlining calculated risks and cost/benefit analysis needed to drive growth.
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis and market research to support category positioning and pricing strategies.

Pricing & Cost Analysis

  • Develop, model, and propose SKU-level pricing scenarios aligned with departmental pricing strategy, margin objectives, and competitive benchmarks.
  • Maintain accurate pricing files, support formal price change processes, and ensure overall gross margin targets are met.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, product economics, and competitive pricing to support new product development and assortment decisions.
  • Exercise sound judgment in the face of uncertainty by balancing cost accuracy, timing constraints, and business priorities when escalating issues and recommendations to leadership, appropriately identifying sources of ambiguity and outlining risks to maintain forward momentum.
  • Determine retail replacement values for Valuation requests, estimate retails for Custom Design requests, and price new receipts.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Communication

  • Build credible working relationships with cross-functional teams to champion High Jewelry business needs, leading the creation of impactful presentations, category reports, and completing administrative tasks.
  • Act as a central point of coordination for category initiatives through strong planning, ensuring strong follow-through, alignment, and project continuity.
  • Proactively manage timely cross-functional communication of category updates, launch statuses, potential risks, strategic recommendations and completed actions without requiring follow-up.
  • Own and lead cross-functional meetings with ease and impact, ensuring timely progression of projects and closure of next steps.
  • Drive commercial support by providing timely, accurate product details and on-order visibility to support High Jewelry daily sales, events & special client requests.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Merchandising, Category Management, Product Marketing, or related analytical experience, preferably in luxury, jewelry, or fashion.
  • Proven ability to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage and uphold departmental standards and business direction.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Clear, concise, and compelling verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI, with a demonstrated ability to rapidly adopt new software and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP).
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities, with the agility to prioritize shifting deliverables, adapt to change, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Process-oriented mindset focused on operational efficiency, optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with market research.
  • Strong aesthetic sensibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the High Jewelry industry and/or gemstone expertise (Graduate Gemologist a plus)
  • Experience with complex and/or high value Development processes.

The hiring range for this position ranges from $101,575 - 120,000. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
