Senior Analyst-Data Analytics
Description
Sr Analyst/Analyst, US Consumer CXO Experimentation Analytics
The U.S. Consumer Marketing (USCM) team at American Express drives customer acquisition, engagement, and growth through data-driven marketing. Within USCM, the Marketing, Membership & Investment Optimization (MMIO) team leverages analytics, experimentation, and data science to optimize marketing investments and business outcomes.
We are seeking a Senior Analyst to advance experimentation and measurement capabilities through rigorous analytics, causal thinking, and AI-powered solutions. The ideal candidate is an AI-native, intellectually curious problem solver who thrives in ambiguity, builds solutions from 0 to 1, and translates complex analyses into measurable business impact.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to measure incrementality, optimize marketing effectiveness, and improve prospect experiences across the end-to-end acquisition journey.
- Leverage experimentation, analytics, and causal reasoning to identify opportunities for personalized experiences, improved conversion, and customer acquisition growth.
- Translate complex analyses into actionable insights that shape marketing strategies, investment decisions, and prospect & customer journey optimization.
- Build AI-powered, scalable solutions: Leverage AI tools and agentic workflows to develop reusable analytical frameworks, automate processes, and accelerate experimentation, insights, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate ambiguous business challenges into analytical solutions and clear recommendations.
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (master’s preferred), with 2+ years of relevant experience in analytics, data science, or experimentation.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, including statistical analysis, large-scale data manipulation, and analytical coding.
- Solid foundation in statistics and experimentation, including A/B testing, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, statistical power, and experiment design.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding and analytics tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Copilot, Codex), including the ability to validate AI-generated code and analytical outputs.
- Understanding of LLMs and agentic AI concepts, including prompting, APIs, tool/function calling, RAG, MCP, and agent workflows.
- Familiarity with machine learning fundamentals, including regression, classification, predictive modeling, and model evaluation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to navigate ambiguity, independently drive end-to-end solutions, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with causal inference and advanced experimentation methods, including difference-in-differences, synthetic controls, propensity score methods, quasi-experimental designs, or incrementality measurement.
- Hands-on experience building AI agents or agentic analytical workflows, particularly for experimentation, data analysis, insight generation, or analytical automation.
- Demonstrated experience building 0-to-1 analytical solutions, reusable frameworks, or automation capabilities with measurable business impact.
- Experience in marketing measurement, digital experimentation, customer acquisition, or conversion optimization.
