Summary for Android Senior Developers (2-4 FTEs) -
CEA Platform to support the adaptation of the existing VWG "Group App Store" Android Automotive App Store client to the new CEA architecture, the supplier shall provide 2-4 Senior Android Developers with the following skills and capabilities:
Core Technical Expertise
• Senior-level Android development using Kotlin and Java for automotive applications Strong understanding of AOSP and platform-specific adaptation on new automotive hardware (CEA).
High proficiency with Coroutines and RxJava for reactive and performant application development
• Solid experience with software architecture patterns, especially MVVM; familiarity with MVI is a plus
Experience with CI/CD, GitHub, GitHub Actions, workflow automation, and version control best practices
Ability to model software components using PlantUML (PUML).
Out-of-the-box thinking and readiness to dig into existing complex code, understand it and rewrite it
Automotive & System Knowledge
• Proven background in Android Automotive OS (AAOS) development.
(can) Knowledge of HCP3, OneInfotainment, and integration with ACP/CSP backend commerce systems (VW Group).
• Understanding of automotive app lifecycle, update mechanisms, and in-car UI/UX constraints.
Planned Development Responsibilities
• Adaptation and optimization of the current App Store client to run on the CEA platform. Execution of new and dynamically aligned Pl items, such as: : • Landing page integration, Guest mode, User behavior improvements, Welcome wizard
•Shop-specific extensions (subscriptions, order history)
Codebase refactoring for maintainability and performance
