Senior Android Engineer – Health Tech & Jetpack Compose

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Android Engineer in Milan to build and ship high-quality native Android features for health-focused products. You will work closely with backend, firmware, and ML teams, crafting the primary mobile interface for Eight Sleep devices and ensuring a smooth, high-performance user experience.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years of Android experience, deep Kotlin skills, Jetpack Compose, and a track record of enterprise-grade app development.

Build and ship high-quality features for native Android applications. Develop the primary mobile interaction point for members to control Eight Sleep products. Help users gain insights from their sleep and recovery experience. Collaborate closely with backend, firmware, and ML engineers. Work with R&D, Growth, and Hardware departments. Collaborate with executives including the CEO, CPO, and VPs. Conduct code reviews. Ensure code quality. Optimize app performance and improve the member experience. Build pixel-perfect mobile apps with beautiful animations. 6+ years of shipping high-quality features for native Android apps. Fluent proficiency in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, MVVM, and MVI. Experience building scalable, testable enterprise-grade apps. Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced environment while maintaining a focus on stability. Proficiency in building custom UI components in Compose. Experience building software for hardware products, particularly in the health/medical field. Experience working with health-related apps and peripherals. Ability to work onsite at the Milan office 5 days a week. Visa sponsorship requirements may apply.
