The Senior Architect — AI Enablement is responsible for serving as the guiding star for AI across our software engineering organization. This is not a strategy-only role: associate will be personally building proofs of concept, embed with scrum teams to implement AI-driven solutions, and shape how our organization adopts AI — from developer productivity tooling to AI capabilities in our products. Associate will work across all engineering teams and their leaders, and partner with Danaher-level AI leadership to ensure our direction stays aligned with the broader enterprise AI strategy.

This position reports to the VP Software, Cepheid and is part of the Software Engineering located in IDC Bangalore and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Hands-on AI implementation - Design, build, and demonstrate AI proofs of concept (POCs) that solve real problems for our teams, and carry successful POCs through to production-ready patterns.
- Implement solutions using modern AI tooling — LLM APIs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic frameworks, AI coding assistants — integrated with our Java-based technology stack.
- Establish reference architectures, reusable components, and coding standards for AI features so teams can adopt them quickly and safely.
- Drive AI adoption across teams - Act as the organization's AI evangelist and trusted advisor: coach engineers, managers, product owners, and directors on where and how AI can improve their work.
- Set Strategy, trends, and governance for the s/w organization - Continuously scan industry trends in AI/GenAI, evaluate emerging tools and models, and recommend enhancements to the organization's AI roadmap.
The essential requirements of the job include
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 16+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in an architect or technical leadership role.
- Strong hands-on Java expertise (e.g., Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs) with a track record of shipping production systems. - Proven experience building AI/GenAI POCs and taking at least some of them into production.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with AI tools and technologies: LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, or similar), prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).
- Excellent communication and influencing skills — able to work effectively across multiple teams, senior leaders, and enterprise stakeholders without direct authority.
- Ability to translate business problems into pragmatic, implementable AI solutions and to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience with agentic AI frameworks, MCP, or workflow orchestration (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, Spring AI).
- Familiarity with MLOps/LLMOps practices: evaluation, monitoring, cost management, and guardrails for AI systems.
- Experience driving AI adoption or developer-productivity programs in a multi-team engineering organization.
