Senior Architecture Engineer -Metro project

Context

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Architectural Engineer to lead architectural detailing, space coordination, finishes, wayfinding/signage compliance, fire and life safety, and spatial integration across Cairo Metro Line 1 stations and technical facilities. The role requires close coordination with multi-system engineering teams and adherence to Employer Requirements.

Missions/Main Duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design and documentation packages, ensuring seamless integration of new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and CBTC/telecom installations within existing station architectures.
  • Oversee the development and submittal of architectural layout drawings, material specifications, finishes, and interior coordination details.
  • Manage the execution of signage, wayfinding, graphic standards, and accessibility criteria.
  • Review and coordinate Combined Services Drawings (CSD) and architectural interfaces with the Employer (NAT), the Engineer, and interfacing parties.
  • Ensure compliance with fire protection, life safety standards, and local municipal codes applicable to underground and surface metro stations.
  • Perform site inspections and supervise site activities
  • Review BIM models.

Profile/Skills

Required Prequalifications & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of professional architectural experience, with experience in large-scale public transit, rail stations, or major infrastructure developments.
  • Technical Competencies:
    • Demonstrated expertise in station architectural retrofitting, interior finishes, space planning, and multi-service integration (CSD coordination).
    • Comprehensive knowledge of international and local building codes, fire safety regulations, and accessibility/wayfinding design standards for public transportation facilities.
    • Proficiency in BIM (Building Information Modelling) and standard architectural design software.
    • The ability to develop and review Fire compartmentalization and civil defence reports.

  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, multi-disciplinary coordination skills, and exceptional technical writing and submittal management experience.
