We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) with hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, security, and availability of our databases across development, staging, and production environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL database systems.
  • Monitor database performance and implement changes to improve speed and efficiency.
  • Perform regular database backups, restoration, and disaster recovery operations.
  • Ensure data integrity, availability, and security.
  • Optimize queries and indexing strategies to support high-performance applications.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on database design and implementation.
  • Automate routine tasks using scripts or tools.
  • Manage user access and roles, ensuring proper database permissions and compliance.
  • Set up and maintain database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
  • Monitor and tune database configurations, storage, and memory utilization.
  • Stay updated with the latest database patches, features, and best practices.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to database architecture, procedures, and policies.


Requirements

Postgres:


  • Administer and perform database related activities, including upgrades, maintenance, backup, recovery and configuration management.
  • Involve in setting up DB instances and part of day-to-day production issues resolution.
  • Should be able to install, deploy and manage Prod/Test/QA DBs span across different data centers on virtual machines.
  • Hands on in performing backup and restore of Postgres database instances improving recovery times.
  • Configure and monitor numerous Postgres instances and replica sets across homogenous and heterogenous environments.
  • Be able to trace the stress areas back to the queries causing them, proactively profiling such queries and suggest improvement.
  • Through knowledge on indexes, create and rebuild.
  • Through understanding of High Available systems and Clustered systems associated to Postgres.
  • Excellent shell and SQL skill for DBA tasks automation.
  • Experienced with Linux/Unix system monitoring and analysis.



Qualification:

  • Minimum 3+ yrs of experience
  • Any degree - (BE/B.Tech/BCA/MCA/M.Tech/M.Sc)
