Senior Associate - Validation Engineer
As a Validation Engineer, you will play a critical role in executing Factory
Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), Proof of Concepts (POCs), and
other validation activities in alignment with RFP/SBD requirements for smart
metering projects. You will serve as a key interface with customers, utilities, and
consultants, ensuring all testing activities are conducted efficiently and in
accordance with defined standards.
This is a customer-facing role, where you will hold full accountability for the
successful planning, execution, and completion of FATs, SATs, and POCs,
ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and compliance with project specifications.
Key Skills:
- Understand validation and testing scenarios for the AMI including Smart
Energy Meter, Network Interface Card, Gateway Unit/Access Point/Data
Concentrator Unit and HES to meet delivery schedules.
- Good Knowledge of the Indian Standards (IS 16444, IS 15959, IS 13779, IS
14697 & IS 17025).
- Understand testing procedures for Smart Energy Meters as per the Indian
Standards.
- Conducting Sample routine and Acceptance testing of meters, Hardware
integration testing, functional performance test, Integrated system test,
Unstructured testing, Field Installation and Integration Test(FIIT), SAT
- Able to handle activities like Collect data from the Base Computer Software
(BCS) & CMRI from the Smart Energy Meter.
- Preparing test plans and test case execution as per customer requirement
- Study specifications, prepare test cases & exhaustive test data.
- Provide weekly updates, non-compliances and open issues to business
stakeholders and prioritise the activities.
- Co-ordinate for development testing as per requirement in tender/supply
- Provide support for the samples testing going for the external labs NABL lab.
Witness testing in Meter Testing Lab. (ERDA, CPRI), and Electricity Boards.
- Support to costumer inspection team during meter inspection at factory.
- Provide support for the ongoing lab testing to the Utilities.
- Interacting with Business Analyst & Developer for the observations and
Reporting defects & track to closure.
