About the Role
This is not a traditional QA Automation role.
As a Senior Automation Infrastructure Engineer, you'll focus on designing, developing, and evolving the automation ecosystem behind one of Fortinet's cloud security products. You'll build the frameworks, tooling, and infrastructure that support our engineering teams while continuously improving reliability, scalability, and developer productivity.
Our automation platform has a strong foundation, but as our product rapidly evolves, so do the engineering challenges. You'll play a key role in expanding the platform, introducing new capabilities, and ensuring our automation grows alongside the product.
A small part of the role also involves reviewing nightly automation executions, investigating failures, and distinguishing between infrastructure issues, automation gaps, and genuine product regressions to provide valuable feedback to development teams.
What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Python, Pytest, Playwright.

• Build reusable infrastructure, libraries, and internal developer tools that improve engineering productivity.

• Design automation architecture that supports a continuously evolving cloud product.

• Extend automation capabilities as new product features are introduced.

• Improve automation stability, maintainability, execution speed, and scalability.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD integrations and automation pipelines.

• Analyze nightly automation executions to identify product regressions, flaky tests, and infrastructure issues.

• Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Product Managers, and DevOps teams throughout the development lifecycle.

• Drive engineering best practices through code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience developing automation frameworks or automation infrastructure.

• Strong programming experience in Python

• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, or another modern browser automation framework.

• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks.

• Strong understanding of software design principles and object-oriented programming.

• Experience working with Git and modern CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience testing REST APIs and backend services.

• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering teams.

• Fluent English (written and spoken).

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).

• Knowledge of networking concepts and cybersecurity products.

• Experience building internal engineering tools or developer platforms.
