Senior Automation QA Engineer

Ciklum is looking for a Senior Automation QA Engineer to join our team in Romania.

About the role:

As a Senior Automation QA Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow to support our engineering work. This project is with a global Financial Services Provider that focuses on providing responsible credit to underbanked customers in international markets. The current strategy centers on consolidating technology delivery to a single partner to drive efficiency and operational excellence.

You will join the Customer Application. The primary mobile application serves as a critical self-service tool for over 800,000 users. It is currently undergoing a technology refresh, migrating to a modern framework to improve scalability, performance, and accessibility compliance across the organization's European footprint.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated UI tests using Selenium(C#/.Net) or WebdriverIO
• Perform API and web service testing using tools such as Postman or SoapUI/
• Analyze application and integration issues using CloudWatch, OpenSearch, and Kibana
• Support integration, regression, and end-to-end testing activities
• Work with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to integrate and maintain automated tests
• Use SQL to validate data and support investigation of application issues
• Manage defects and testing activities using Jira and Xray, with documentation maintained in Confluence
• Collaborate closely with developers, architects, analysts, and other stakeholders to improve overall product quality
• Identify quality risks, communicate issues clearly, and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in QA Automation / Technical Testing
• Strong hands-on experience with UI and API automation
• Experience with Selenium or Playwright
• Strong experience with API testing, preferably using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools
• Good SQL skills and experience with database validation
• Experience working with AWS environments, particularly application/log investigation
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Jira/Xray or similar test management tools
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with developers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take ownership of testing activities

Desirable:

• Experience with BrowserStack or similar cross-browser/device testing platforms
• Experience with mobile/device farms
• Knowledge of accessibility testing
• Experience with performance testing
• Interest in AI-assisted testing and innovative QA practices
• Experience mentoring other QA engineers
