Summary

Senior QE engineer designs and owns end-to-end automation strategy for web platforms using Playwright and JavaScript, sets quality standards, and mentors teams.

We are looking for a Senior Automation Tester in JS to own quality strategy and automation architecture for web platforms, using Playwright and JavaScript as core tools. This role goes beyond test implementation: the Senior QE defines quality standards, drives automation strategy, mentors others and ensures quality scales with platform complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Design and own end-to-end automation strategy using Playwright and JavaScript
  • Define automation architecture, patterns and best practices
  • Ensure scalable, maintainable and performant test suites
  • Drive adoption of shift-left testing practices
  • Establish quality gates within CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement and oversee UI, API and integration tests
  • Design test strategies for complex user journeys and integrations
  • Handle test data management and environment orchestration
  • Lead code reviews for test automation code
  • Eliminate flaky tests and improve test execution reliability
  • Mentor mid-level and junior Quality Engineers
  • Partner with Product, Engineering and Delivery leaders on release readiness

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Test Automation, with proven experience acting as a Senior QE
  • Hands-on expertise in Playwright at scale and advanced proficiency in JavaScript
  • Understanding of frontend and backend architectures
  • Experience testing REST APIs and deep experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of test architecture, test data and environment management
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in complex, enterprise-scale platforms
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher
