Test Automation Engineer
Summary
Design and maintain automated test suites for frontend and backend systems using Playwright, Java/TypeScript, and Docker in a GitLab CI pipeline.
We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join our team and drive the design and execution of automated testing strategies across frontend and backend systems. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, agile environment, bringing strong expertise across multiple technologies and automation best practices.
Please note that working from the office 3 days per week is required.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for frontend and backend systems
- Use Playwright for frontend automation and Java/TypeScript for backend testing
- Integrate automated tests into CI pipelines using GitLab
- Support containerized testing environments using Docker
- Collaborate with developers and QA teams to identify test coverage gaps and improve test reliability
- Contribute to performance testing efforts and help optimize system responsiveness
- Participate in sprint planning and provide input on test strategy and coverage
Requirements
- Proven experience in automated testing across frontend and backend systems
- Proficiency in Java or TypeScript
- Experience with Playwright or similar frontend testing tools
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, especially GitLab
- Working knowledge of Docker for test environment setup
- Capability to build reliable, maintainable test suites and integrate them into development workflows
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
Nice to have
- Experience with Python for scripting or test automation
- Exposure to performance testing tools and methodologies
- Understanding of agile delivery and DevOps practices
