Senior AWS Data Engineer

Summary

Build and maintain scalable AWS data pipelines and datasets, using Python, SQL, and Snowflake to support analytics and governance.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong experience in designing and developing cloud-native data solutions within AWS and Snowflake environments.

You will join an Agile Scrum team and be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable data pipelines, supporting Data Governance initiatives, and delivering high-quality datasets that enable business decision-making.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines that ingest and transform data from multiple sources, including APIs, FTP, and SFTP.
  • Build scalable batch and streaming data processing solutions.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms to ensure data reliability and quality.
  • Design, manage, and optimize complex datasets that support business and analytical requirements.
  • Contribute to Data Governance initiatives through metadata management and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, and SQL scripts.
  • Optimize SQL queries and data models to ensure performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Participate in incident resolution, production support, and continuous platform improvements.
  • Follow engineering best practices and contribute to the evolution of the data architecture.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience developing data pipelines in AWS environments.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including S3, ECS, Lambda, RDS, SNS, SQS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with analytical databases.
  • Experience with non-relational and graph databases.
  • Proficiency in Python, including libraries such as Pandas and Boto3.
  • Solid understanding of Data Architecture and Data Governance principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional proficiency in English.


Nice to Have

  • Experience with Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of dbt Core.
  • Experience with CI/CD practices and DevOps methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions, or Prefect.
  • Experience with GitHub or GitLab.
  • Knowledge of Tableau or other data visualization tools.
  • Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • AWS and/or Snowflake certifications.
  • Portuguese and/or French language skills.
