Senior Azure Cloud Architect / Cloud Engineer
About the company: Our client is a Commonwealth department with a broad national portfolio. Its CIO Group delivers enabling technology services to the department and to Australian businesses.
About the role: You will join a distributed CIO Group team delivering a range of ICT projects on Microsoft Azure and M365. The client is filling several positions and is seeking senior Cloud Architects and Cloud Engineers who can design the platform and also build it.
Duties
- Develop enterprise and solution architectures for Azure and M365, and write detailed guidance for engineers
- Design and build integrations with App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus and API Management, including Dynamics 365 CRM
- Deliver Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD through Azure DevOps
- Secure and monitor platforms with Entra ID, Key Vault, VNets, Private Endpoints, RBAC, Azure Monitor and Application Insights
- Provide impact analysis aligned to whole-of-government standards and the Digital Service Standard, and mentor engineers
- 5+ years implementing and managing cloud systems, with deep hands-on Azure
- Azure App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Service Bus and API Management
- Azure DevOps repos, IaC (Bicep, ARM or Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines
- Entra ID, Key Vault, VNets, Private Endpoints and RBAC
- Dynamics 365 CRM or other third-party system integration
- Australian citizenship required
- Must be able to obtain a Baseline security clearance, with the application lodged before starting and the clearance granted within three months. Current Baseline or higher highly regarded
- Canberra based. Remote work is considered case by case with the supervising manager. Expect travel to Canberra about quarterly for a few days, at your own cost
