SENIOR AZURE HYBRID INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER (Azure local)
Summary
Senior engineer builds and migrates hybrid Azure infrastructure, supporting VMware-to-Azure transitions and maintaining Azure-local environments with DevOps tooling.
SENIOR AZURE HYBRID INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER - (Azure Local experience is mandatory)
(L3 OPERATIONS & CLOUD MIGRATION)
Project Description: VMware servers to Azure (local) migration
Services Description:
• Active participation in the
o build out of our Azure-Cloud environment.
o buildup of our new Azure-Local (PoC) environment.
o on-call support rotation during office hours. (Low volume as 99% is handled by our central ops-team)
o Operations activities of our global L3 support team. Covering maintenance of Windows servers, VMware clusters, Netapp, HPE-Synergy and Azure.
o Migration activities of the on-premise VMware server farm towards Azure Cloud or Azure local in 2027.
• Maintaining Azure Dev Ops tasks.
• Create guidelines and team documentation.
Required Skills and Expertise:
• Real experience supporting Azure and hybrid infrastructures in a large environment.
• Technical skills to explain past incidents step by step, including mistakes, and create lessons learned or update processes.
• Strong hands-on skills in Azure VMs, networking, Entra ID, Monitor, Log Analytics, RBAC, Policy, and Defender for Cloud.
• Can write PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bicep, Terraform, Ansible.
• Training AZ-104 as a baseline, but hands-on skills are very important.
• Experience with VMware virtualization on enterprise level.
• Operational knowledge about HPE-Synergy hardware.
• Operational knowledge about storage (Netapp preferred).
• Operational knowledge about networking. (Routing/Subnets/Port config/LACP/ALC’s etc)
• Ability to work solo, but part of a global virtual team.
• Handling escalations with other teams and management.
