What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems that support data collection, processing, and reporting functionalities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for data solutions.
• Implement data pipelines that ensure the efficient flow of data from various sources into our reporting systems.
• Optimize existing data architectures to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability of data processing.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, ETL processes, and reporting frameworks.
• Create and manage automated reporting tools that provide stakeholders with real-time insights into key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across all reporting outputs.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering and reporting, applying best practices to our systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in backend development and data management.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code standards and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with data analysts and business intelligence teams to understand reporting needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data governance policies and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, with a focus on data engineering and reporting.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Strong experience with database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and reporting frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to learning new technologies and methodologies in data engineering.
