Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Developer with a strong background in Microservices Architecture to join their expanding IT and Software division in Bloemfontein. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend services that power complex applications. This role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems and a passion for building robust, efficient, and maintainable code. You will contribute to critical projects, working within a team dedicated to architectural excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement microservices using languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Go. Build and maintain robust APIs and data services that support frontend applications and third-party integrations. Optimize application performance, database queries, and system architecture for scalability and reliability. Implement best practices for microservices development, including containerization, orchestration, and service discovery. Write clean, well-tested code and participate actively in code reviews and architectural discussions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with significant experience in microservices. Strong proficiency with at least one modern backend programming language and associated frameworks. Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and No SQL) and caching mechanisms.
