Senior Backend Developer (PHP / AI)
Multis UK Limited is looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer for the development and improvement of production systems, APIs and online marketplace platforms. AI-assisted development is part of our everyday workflow.
Form of employment: part-time, full-time, contract
Location: Remotely
Job responsibilities
- Design and development of backend applications and REST APIs
- Development in PHP 8+ with SQL databases
- Architecture and improvement of existing production systems
- Search, automation and third-party service integrations
- Code review, debugging and automated testing
- Use of AI coding tools and AI agents for development, research, testing and code review
- Integration of AI APIs and agents into applications where appropriate
- Technical guidance for junior developers
Requirements
- Strong commercial backend development experience
- Very good PHP and SQL knowledge
- Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs
- Git and modern development workflows
- Linux and Docker experience
- Ability to understand and improve existing codebases
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
- Comfortable using modern AI coding tools and AI agents as part of development
