Senior Backend Engineer: AI-Powered Platforms & Ownership

Duferco's Corporate Innovation Team seeks an experienced backend engineer to design and build scalable Python services, specialize in FastAPI, and own data and analytics pipelines. You will work across energy, trading, logistics, and other domains, delivering AI-enabled automation and robust backend infrastructure.

Design and build backend services and APIs. Implement integrations across internal and external systems. Develop AI-enabled automation and operational tools. Build engineering tooling to improve how we ship and operate. Create data and decision-support pipelines and analytics tooling. 5+ years building production backend systems in Python. Own a FastAPI service from design to deployment. Proficient in Postgres and AWS. Experience with data modeling and integration.
