Role Overview

A leading organization is seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer to develop scalable backend services and AI agent orchestration systems for an enterprise AI platform. This role is ideal if you have strong expertise in backend architecture, distributed systems, and enterprise-grade software development.

You’ll build secure and high-performance backend solutions, integrate enterprise platforms, and support AI-driven applications in on-premise environments. You’ll work closely with AI, Data Science, and Frontend teams to deliver reliable, production-ready systems that meet enterprise security and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI agent orchestration systems, workflow logic, and scalable microservices.
• Build secure API integrations with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, and enterprise data platforms.
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) services using vector databases and retrieval technologies.
• Integrate external data sources through secure and efficient API connectors.
• Implement authentication, role-based access control, audit logging, and data protection mechanisms.
• Optimize backend services for secure on-premise and air-gapped deployments.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability through tracing and optimization.
• Collaborate with AI, Data Science, and Frontend teams to deliver enterprise software solutions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (as estimated in source posting); minimum 5+ years of backend engineering experience, preferably with distributed systems or production AI platforms.
• Technical Proficiency: Expert proficiency in Python using FastAPI and/or Django; strong programming skills in Go or Java; hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes; strong understanding of REST APIs, gRPC, and API gateways such as Kong or NGINX; experience with PostgreSQL and vector databases such as Weaviate or Milvus; knowledge of AI agent frameworks, RAG, and enterprise integrations; familiarity with SAP integration protocols including OData and SOAP is an advantage.
• Core Competencies: Experience working in secure, high‑availability environments (FinTech, healthcare, or defense background a plus); excellent analytical, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.
