As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-native banking applications that support digital transformation initiatives. Working within a modern microservices architecture, you will leverage Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kafka, and NoSQL technologies to build resilient, secure, and scalable backend services. The ideal candidate will have experience developing enterprise-grade systems within highly regulated environments and possess a strong understanding of authentication, security, messaging, and API integration patterns. You will collaborate closely with architects, product owners, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver robust banking solutions that meet both technical and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and support cloud‑native microservices architectures on AWS.
• Develop secure APIs and backend services for banking applications.
• Implement authentication and authorization solutions using IAM and related security frameworks.
• Design and manage event‑driven architectures using Kafka, SNS, and SQS.
• Deploy and support containerized applications running on Amazon EKS.
• Develop and maintain AWS Lambda functions for serverless workloads.
• Integrate and manage secure secrets, encryption, and key management solutions using AWS Secrets Manager and KMS.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed systems.
• Develop automated unit and integration tests using JUnit and related testing frameworks.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD processes and deployment pipelines.
• Manage source code repositories, branching strategies, and release processes using GitHub.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Contribute to technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of hands‑on software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot application development.
• Proven experience building and supporting Microservices-based architectures.
• Strong AWS cloud-native development experience.
• Hands‑on knowledge of AWS IAM Authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Experience working with AWS Lambda and Amazon EKS.
• Strong knowledge of AWS SNS, SQS, KMS, and Secrets Manager.
• Experience implementing asynchronous messaging and event‑driven solutions.
• Strong experience with Kafka integration and message streaming architectures.
• Experience developing and managing NoSQL databases.
• Solid understanding of secure coding practices and application security.
• Proficiency in JUnit and automated testing methodologies.
• Experience managing GitHub repositories and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
