Senior Backend Engineer - Core Ledger & Reconciliation

Hercle is seeking a Senior Back-End Developer to own core ledger, balances and reporting systems within a Foundations & Reporting squad. You will design and scale our double-entry ledger, build adapters to banking and custody providers, and ensure reliable data feeds for Finance and regulators.

You'll work across two C# code bases, tackle complex domain problems, and drive CI/CD, testing and performance. English fluency required; a curious, autonomous mindset is valued.

Design, build and maintain the double-entry ledger and balance services. Scale the reconciliation engine to match books against banks and venues. Build resilient adapters to banking, custody and payment providers. Own the Reporting API and data feeds used by Finance, Data, auditors and regulators. Drive platform reliability: uptime, monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting. Write clean, documented code, review peers' work and improve CI/CD. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field. 5+ years building back-end systems in a strongly typed language (C#/.NET, Java, Kotlin, Go). Strong grasp of OOP, design patterns, distributed systems, concurrency, multithreading and performance optimisation. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, CI/CD, Git and testing frameworks. Fluent written and spoken English; daily AI coding agents usage in production. Flexible remote/hybrid working Ownership in squad
