Senior Backend Engineer
You will build and maintain scalable production services that handle very high throughput, implement performance monitoring at micro- and nano-second granularity, and drive ambitious engineering initiatives from specification through long-term maintenance. You will design system architecture, implement and test robust, low-latency indexing and realtime systems, operate Unix-based infrastructure, and manage cloud deployments. You will write high-quality, well-documented production code and set up monitoring and observability to keep systems healthy under heavy load.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable production services
- Implement performance monitoring at micro- and nano-second granularity
- Drive engineering initiatives from specification through architecture, implementation, testing, monitoring, and maintenance
- Design system architecture for high-throughput, low-latency systems
- Develop realtime data indexing systems at scale
- Operate Unix systems and manage cloud infrastructure
- Write high-quality, well-documented production code
- Set up testing, monitoring, and observability for production services
Requirements
- 3+ years building and maintaining production-grade software systems
- 3+ years experience with Unix systems
- Experience with Rust or other statically typed languages
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
- Ability to make engineering decisions informed by business context
- Demonstrated high agency and willingness to dive into unfamiliar technical and non-technical areas
- Passion for decentralized finance
- Preferred: Experience with blockchain technology, specifically Solana
- Preferred: Experience in quant trading
