Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js, TypeScript & Azure)

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our R&D team at Colmex Group.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems that power our fintech products and platforms.

You will work with modern cloud technologies, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build reliable, secure, and innovative solutions in a dynamic technological environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs.
• Build and optimize cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborate closely with Frontend, Mobile, Product, DevOps, and Data teams.
• Improve system performance, reliability, observability, and security.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
• Promote engineering best practices, code quality, automated testing, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on backend software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Proven experience designing and building scalable REST APIs and backend services.
• Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems architecture.
• Strong experience developing cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services such as App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, and Application Insights.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, security, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Experience with automated testing and modern software engineering practices.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with NestJS.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, or MSSQL.
• Background in fintech, trading platforms, or financial services.
• Experience with Kubernetes (AKS).
• Experience developing high-volume, customer-facing systems.
