Senior Backend Java Developer
Languages Required: English & Spanish (Professional Fluency)
Location: 44 King St W, Toronto, ON M5H 1H1, CA
Hybrid: 2-3 days in office a week
We are seeking 8-12 years experienced highly skilled Senior Backend Java Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, API Integration, Azure Cloud, and SQL/PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish, with the ability to effectively communicate with global stakeholders, business teams, and technical teams across regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and support Microservices-based architectures.
- Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Deploy, monitor, and support applications in Microsoft Azure Cloud.
- Develop and optimize database solutions using SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Work closely with English and Spanish-speaking stakeholders and teams.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in Java backend development.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Hands-on experience with API Integration and REST services.
- Experience with Azure Cloud services and deployments.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Experience in performance tuning and application optimization.
- Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.
- Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging frameworks.
- Experience working in global, distributed Agile teams.
