Senior Backend Python Developer x3

Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid | 3 Days Onsite)

6-Month Initial Contract | Rolling Extension

Stelfox is partnering with a rapidly growing Dublin-based technology organisation that is expanding its engineering function and looking to hire three Senior Backend Python Developers on a long-term contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team working on the design, development, and enhancement of scalable backend platforms, APIs, and distributed services that support critical business operations and future growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain robust backend applications using Python
• Develop and support scalable RESTful APIs and microservices
• Contribute to the architecture of distributed systems and cloud-native solutions
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, UX teams, and Software Engineers
• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions
• Troubleshoot and optimise application performance, reliability, and scalability
• Participate in code reviews and champion engineering best practices
• Support CI/CD initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement across the software delivery lifecycle
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members where required

Required Experience

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience with Python
• Strong hands-on experience with Flask, Django, or similar Python frameworks
• Proven experience building and supporting RESTful APIs
• Strong SQL and relational database expertise
• Solid Linux/Unix development and administration experience
• Experience working with Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Artifactory, and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of distributed systems and scalable backend architectures
• Experience working within Agile software delivery teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
