Senior Backend Software Engineer

Summary

Builds and owns full-stack software for Archer’s urban air mobility platform, focusing on backend systems for aircraft dispatch, logistics, and performance—integrating AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, and cross-platform apps (web/mobile) to support operations like the LA2028 Olympics.

  • We are looking for 0 to 1 Software Engineers to join an elite team that is building out Archer’s Airline Operations Software Ecosystem. This role enables you to be one of a few people to craft the future of urban air mobility by building agentic software that powers it

  • The products you will be building in this role will be integral for Archer’s LA2028 Olympics operation and to support the logistics, routing, performance, and dispatch of our aircraft for decades to come

  • We’re looking for someone who can own a product end-to-end, from frontend to backend to deployment, while bringing strong backend depth to help guide the team’s architecture decisions

  • Archer’s Airline Software team operates with Startup DNA and as such, we are looking for engineers who thrive in an autonomous environment where you will be encouraged to make product, design, and architecture decisions

  • The Airline Software Team is by design lean to provide engineers with career defining opportunities to design and scale an application that will touch millions of passengers a year

  • Build great software. Take product requirements and turn them into beautiful, reliable, and high quality web and mobile applications

  • Create and manage backend infrastructure including building database schemas, API architecture, orchestration services, and refining architecture

  • Lead end-to-end technical execution and receive full ownership of the software development lifecycle

  • Design and implement the architecture and tech stack that will serve as the backbone for our platform while balancing scalability, speed, and reliability

  • Contribute to our Roadmap. Ideate, plan, and prototype technical tools for aircraft performance and dispatch settings

  • Work with Design, Data Science, and Technical Aviation Experts to supercharge the features and products you are working on

  • Use the latest code-generation technologies to streamline your workflow and achieve breakthrough productivity

  • Implement and productize novel machine learning and deep learning algorithms developed by our AI/ML research team
