Senior BIW Design Engineer

Bertrandt Group in Italy is seeking an experienced Senior Body-in-White Development Engineer to support the development of premium vehicle body structures from concept phase through series production.

The ideal candidate combines strong BIW design expertise with hands-on experience in vehicle architecture, packaging studies, feasibility assessments and collaboration with suppliers in automotive OEM environments.

Yearly gross salary: 40,000€ - 50,000€

Develop and design BIW structures and components through concept to production release. Own vehicle body components and assemblies from development to release and continuous improvement. Create and modify CAD models and engineering drawings using CATIA V5. Perform packaging studies, feasibility assessments and integration within vehicle architecture. Develop engineering solutions considering crash performance, manufacturability and cost. Define and optimize body structure concepts, joining systems and manufacturing solutions. Coordinate suppliers and collaborate with manufacturing, simulation, testing, quality and project teams. Support prototype builds, validation and industrialization phases. Analyze issues and implement robust engineering solutions. Ensure compliance with OEM development processes and release procedures. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering or equivalent technical qualification. Minimum 5 years of experience in Body-in-White development within automotive industry. Experience developing structural vehicle components (front-end, rear-end, underbody, crash structures). Experience managing components or subsystems with direct engineering responsibility.
