Senior Business Analyst

Description

Our client is a successful NZ-headquartered group that designs, manufactures and distributes essential high-performance components for customers around the world. It has a long track record of growth. Its trading businesses globally utilise Oracle NetSuite, with many recent implementations delivered across distribution and manufacturing operations.

Behind that platform is a small, high-performing business systems team in Auckland. They don’t have layers of bureaucracy. They have capable people who know the business, look after each other and do things properly.

They’re now looking for a Senior Business Analyst to become a cornerstone of that team.

Why you’ll want this role
  • Real ownership. You won’t be one BA among fifty. You’ll be the senior BA voice on a global ERP, trusted to make the calls and see them through.
  • Genuine variety. One week you’re investigating an issue for a manufacturing site in the UK. The next you’re shaping a new module rollout or steering a technical upgrade.
  • Projects with substance. On the horizon are upgrade projects, new subsidiary and logistics rollouts, new integrations, and helping decide how NetSuite’s new AI capability is introduced.
  • Global reach, local team. You’ll work with users across five regions from an Auckland office.
  • A business that invests. It’s financially strong and growing, with a long-term commitment to its systems and its people.
What you’ll do
  • Make sure NetSuite and its connected systems keep meeting the needs of the business, with a particular focus on distribution and manufacturing modules, integrations, user administration and upgrade readiness
  • Oversee the Freshdesk support desk: triage and manage support and enhancement tickets, and keep responsiveness high for users worldwide
  • Gather and challenge requirements, model processes and identify improvements with users and stakeholders
  • Assess the risks, benefits, dependencies and wider implications of proposed changes before they’re approved
  • Prepare clear functional specifications, options papers, recommendations, cost estimates and benefit assessments
  • Take solutions through proper due process: documented requirements, impact assessment, stakeholder approval, testing evidence, change control and post-implementation review
  • Lead small projects and contribute to larger ones, including onboarding new subsidiaries, introducing new modules and delivering integrations
  • Manage external implementation and application partners in day-to-day operations and project delivery
  • Evaluate new NetSuite releases and coordinate any remediation they need
  • Maintain accurate process, system and support documentation
  • Coach and support an Intermediate Business Analyst
What you’ll bring
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst. You can investigate complex problems, evaluate options and take solutions all the way to implementation.
  • Strong ERP experience. NetSuite is highly regarded, but if you come from another major ERP and pick up new systems quickly, we’d still love to hear from you.
  • Experience working directly with end users across different functions, locations and levels of technical confidence
  • Experience in distribution or manufacturing (preferred)
  • Exposure to integrations, EDI, system releases, scripting changes or technical upgrade programmes (a strong plus)
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business analysis, information systems, technology or finance, or equivalent practical experience
The kind of person who thrives here
  • Methodical and curious. You like getting to the bottom of how things really work.
  • Detail-focused, while still seeing the wider picture and the downstream impacts.
  • A finisher, not a 90-percenter.
  • Calm and organised when you’re juggling several priorities.
  • Approachable and service-minded. You enjoy helping users succeed and can translate between business needs and technical solutions in plain English.
  • Comfortable in a small team, where you share ownership and your work is visible.
The details
  • Permanent, full time
  • Competitive remuneration
  • On-site at the Auckland head office
  • A close-knit, collaborative team environment
