Senior Business Analyst
Description
Salary: RM 4,500 – RM 5,500 per month
🪧 About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst who can turn data into clear business decisions.
This is not a role focused only on preparing reports or maintaining dashboards. We are looking for someone who is curious about the business, able to identify important questions independently, investigate what is happening behind the numbers, and recommend what the company should do next.
You will work closely with management and cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, CRM, Customer Service and Operations to identify opportunities, diagnose business problems and improve performance.
The ideal candidate is someone who does not stop at:
“What happened?”
but continues asking:
“Why did it happen?”
“What does it mean for the business?”
“What should we do about it?”
🔎 Key Responsibilities
1. Business Performance Analysis
Analyse business performance across sales, marketing, customer acquisition, retention, customer behaviour and operations.
Identify trends, anomalies, risks and opportunities within company data.
Investigate the root causes behind changes in business performance.
Translate complex data into clear findings that management can understand and act on.
Quantify the potential financial or operational impact of identified issues and opportunities.
2. Proactive Business Intelligence
Proactively identify business questions worth investigating instead of waiting only for management requests.
Develop hypotheses and conduct structured analysis to validate them.
Identify opportunities to improve revenue, profitability, customer retention, marketing efficiency and operational performance.
Highlight emerging risks or performance issues before they become larger problems.
Regularly present meaningful business insights and recommendations to management.
3. Management Decision Support
Support management in making data-driven decisions.
Provide analysis and recommendations for strategic initiatives, campaigns and business projects.
Evaluate different business options and scenarios using data.
Challenge assumptions when the data suggests a different conclusion.
Clearly communicate recommendations, trade-offs and expected outcomes.
4. Dashboard & Business Reporting
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and business performance reports.
Ensure dashboards focus on metrics that support business decisions rather than simply displaying data.
Improve existing reporting structures to make insights easier to understand.
Establish clear KPI definitions and ensure consistency across departments.
Reduce unnecessary manual reporting through automation where possible.
5. Data Quality & Analytics Infrastructure
Work with internal teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency and reliability.
Identify gaps or inconsistencies in existing data sources.
Support integration of data from different systems and departments.
Establish appropriate validation and quality-control processes.
Work closely with technical or operational teams to improve data availability.
6. Cross-Functional Business Partnership
Partner with Marketing, Sales, CRM, Customer Service, Operations and other teams to understand business challenges.
Help departments translate business problems into measurable analytical questions.
Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Follow through on recommendations and measure whether implemented actions produce the expected results.
7. AI & Automation
Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve reporting, analysis and business decision-making.
Automate repetitive data preparation, reporting and monitoring tasks where appropriate.
Use AI tools to support faster analysis, pattern identification and insight generation while maintaining data accuracy and human judgment.
Work with internal teams to improve workflows and reduce unnecessary manual work.
Continuously explore practical ways to make business intelligence processes faster, more scalable and more effective through technology.
