As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will focus on expanding our agent network and strengthening existing relationships in the Saudi market. Your role will be pivotal in identifying growth opportunities, acquiring new agents, and increasing in-store performance. From acquisition through to end-to-end sales, you'll work collaboratively with internal stakeholders in Marketing, Operations, Compliance, Product, and Finance to ensure agents meet strategic and operational goals.
This role demands a hands-on sales professional who can bridge planning with execution to successfully deliver products and business results in the market. The Senior Manager will be instrumental in advancing the company's digital product offerings, supporting the Country Director in launching new digital solutions, fostering a strong omni-channel presence, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. The successful candidate will partner with cross-functional teams and align business objectives with regional growth strategies.
This is a hybrid role based in Riyadh (minimum 3 days in the office).
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective remittance agents across Saudi Arabia.
- Identify, negotiate, and onboard new agent partners to expand Western Union's market presence and distribution network.
- Drive agent performance through sales initiatives, promotional campaigns, pricing programs, and product adoption strategies.
- Support revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities within the remittance, payments, and digital financial services ecosystem.
- Lead end-to-end sales activities, from prospecting and acquisition through to implementation and ongoing account management.
- Partner with the Country Director to support the launch and growth of digital products and initiatives across Saudi Arabia.
- Drive the adoption of digital and omni-channel solutions across the agent network to enhance customer engagement and business performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Marketing, Operations, Compliance, Product, and Finance to deliver business objectives.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, customer needs, and emerging opportunities to inform business strategy and execution.
- Conduct regular business reviews with agents to evaluate performance and implement improvement plans where needed.
- Ensure agents operate in accordance with Western Union policies and local regulatory requirements.
- Support negotiations and commercial discussions with partners to strengthen relationships and drive mutual growth.
- Travel regularly within Saudi Arabia to engage with partners, support growth initiatives, and ensure successful execution of business plans.
Role Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, account management, partnership management, or related commercial roles.
- Experience within the remittances, payments, banking, FinTech, or broader financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of the Saudi Arabia payments, remittance, and digital financial services landscape.
- Proven track record of acquiring, developing, and managing strategic partner relationships while delivering commercial growth.
- Experience driving sales performance and executing growth strategies within a multi-channel environment.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within the financial services sector, including AML/KYC principles.
- Strong sales, negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to analyze business performance, identify growth opportunities, and develop actionable plans.
- Experience supporting digital product launches, customer adoption initiatives, or digital transformation programs is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- A proactive, self-driven approach with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, matrixed, and multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are preferred.
