Senior C#/.NET Developer - Market Data Platform (WFH)
Summary
Senior C#/.NET developer owning the .NET side of a hedge fund's market-data migration from OneTick to kdb+/Apache Iceberg, building the gRPC/Arrow Flight client and re-backing the existing .NET wrapper. Remote (WFH) from Metro Manila, working with an architect and the client's engineers.
About the role
Senior C#/.NET developer for a large hedge fund replacing a commercial tick database (OneTick) with kdb+ for real-time market data and Apache Iceberg for end-of-day history. A Python service layer, exposed over gRPC and Arrow Flight, will sit in front of both stores. The fund's existing .NET wrapper stays as the client-facing interface and is re-backed by the new services. This developer will own the .NET side of the migration, working alongside the architect and the client's engineering team.
Key responsibilities
Build the .NET client for the new services from gRPC .proto contracts.
Re-implement the existing .NET wrapper so its public interface stays the same while calls go to gRPC and Arrow Flight instead of OneTick.
Convert Arrow record batches into the .NET types applications use today, efficiently and without precision loss.
Write tests that compare results from the old and new backends for the same calls.
About you
6+ years of C# and modern .NET (6 or later).
Production experience with gRPC in .NET (Grpc.Net.Client, protobuf code generation, streaming calls).
Hands-on use of Apache Arrow in .NET (Apache.Arrow package) or another columnar data format.
Strong handling of high-volume data: memory allocation, Span/Memory, streaming, async.
Care with timestamp precision, time zones and numeric types.
Fluent written and spoken English; comfortable working directly with client engineers.
Writes tests and works in Git-based code review.
Able to overlap at least 4 hours a day with US Eastern time.
